Da Radio Show was founded in 1997 by Dionte Griffin. There, he adopted the air-personality name “Dundee” for radio broadcasting. Da Radio Show began it’s journey at Long Beach City College. In 2001, the broadcast move to Oran-Z Liberation Radio on 87.7FM in Los Angeles.
The broadcast began to mature unto a popular radio show catering to major and independent urban music song titles for nearly two years at Oran-Z. Eventually, the station would closed its doors after FCC violations. In 2003, Da Radio Show went into brief hiatus off the airwaves, surface on the K-DAY’s old frequency, 1580AM and found themselves beginning new life in the Los Angeles market which begun to leak into households that supported the independent urban music industry with a new radio personality crew of Dundee, MD and ex-Lench Mob recording artist, K-Dee throughout the second largest US market and eventually changing their radio format to strictly independent urban music.
Now the journey has escalated into a powerful radio broadcast that was beginning to sweep into the local Los Angeles market. The trio of “Dees” radio program begin to ‘take-off’ rapidly introducing independent urban music song titles and new music prospects from all over the country. Thus begin Da Radio Show on 1580AM, subsequently begin to be mistaken as 1580 K-DAY. After several years storming the LA’s air-waves with indie music, K-Dee departed. Then the dynamic-duo of Dundee and MD over the years begin to grow popular with the indie music industry.
