The Godfather of Curiosity: Shaking The Paradigm

As a boy with dyslexia who loved to learn, reading was a struggle for me. However, I was fortunate to have grown up during the golden age of TV.

Watching shows that exposed me to new ways of thinking and understanding, I was able to feed my insatiable curiosity.

One of my favorite shows was the BBC1 science series “Tomorrow’s World.” Later, I came across the ten-part documentary series #Connections, broadcast on the BBC and PBS in the United States.

Connections traced the historical relationships between invention and discovery. Each episode chronicled a particular path of technological development. Connections was the most-watched PBS television series up to that time. It was followed by the twenty-part Connections 2 (1994) and the ten-part Connections 3 (1997)

Our esteemed guest, James Burke, and his partner created these shows. Professor James Burke has been a regular writer for Scientific American, Time, and a consultant to the SETI project. James is also the host of the upcoming series of Curiosity Stream, The 4th Connection.

James Burke is an award-winning science historian and documentary filmmaker. He was the BBC chief reporter on Apollo 11. For over fifty years, he has produced and hosted many TV series for the BBC, PBS, and Discovery. The Washington Post described him as “One of the most intriguing minds in the Western world.” However, I would describe him as the Godfather of my Curiosity.

The Sound of Freedom, Liberating Humanity

Join me for the next two deeply engrossing episodes of The Dov Baron Show podcast as we delve into the $48 billion asset management world, the shocking contemporary slave trade, the American connection, and how Hollywood snubbed one of the biggest independent movies in history. .

Our guest, Paul Hutchinson, was the primary investor and Executive Producer of one of the most successful independent movies in history, and he held a pivotal role in the largest child rescue operation in history.

“Sound of Freedom” is a 2023 film you may never have heard of, but it’s a true story of a former government agent turned vigilante who rescues children from human traffickers and it’s a must-see.

Paul’s work with the Child Liberation Foundation has led to over 70 undercover rescue missions in 15 countries, contributing to rescuing over 5,000 children. He has been recognized and honored many times including:

Recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor

The 2022 International Medal of Freedom

Recipient of the Race Award from Harvard Business School

Board Member of the Federal Enforcement Homeland Security Foundation

Board Member of the FBI Citizens Academy

Don’t miss out on this powerful story of how Paul Hutchinson and his team are actively changing the lives of invisible children worldwide.

Remember when people were famous for doing something? Remember the days before the Kardashians or Paris Hilton? Back then, there were PR companies and agents. Those people still exist, but now, particularly with social media, you and I can create our own public persona.

Let me put a radical idea forward. What if “everyman/woman/person” aims to genuinely make a positive impact?

On our never-ending quest to Crack the Curiosity Code, Marion Abrams is our guest for the next three episodes. Marion started her film career on PBS specials and NOVA episodes in New York. Her passion was for the outdoors, specializing in shooting and editing action sports like skiing, snowboarding, running, and mountain biking for network broadcasts and commercials airing on PBS, NBC, CBS, ESPN, History Channel, Oxygen, and Spike TV.

Today, she has taken all that experience and expertise and has become one of the world’s top podcasting coaches & consultants. She co-created Spartan Race’s official podcast, boasting over 35 million views & downloads. Marion has worked on a range of projects from social media advisor on a gubernatorial campaign, to creating the documentary film, “Flood Bound,“ to directing TV ads for Vermont Lottery.

On her podcast, “Grounded Content,” which I was honored to be a guest expert on, she explores what drives customer actions and where the lines are between persuasion and manipulation. Marion is a podcasting coach & consultant helping thought leaders, business leaders, and podcast hosts to design and elevate their podcast presence.

Dr Azra Raza: The First Cell, Unravelling The Mystery of Cancer.

Few adults on the planet have not been touched, either directly or indirectly, by cancer. Cancer is one of the things many people see as an inevitable part of life that they hope and pray does not visit directly onto their own life.

Imagine for a moment the grief of being an oncologist (a cancer specialist) and the weight that would put on your life. Every day, you work with people, 70% of whom you will walk to their death. Would that make you want to quit and find a new field?

Now imagine that you are not only watching as these people die but that you discover that the love of your life, another oncologist, is diagnosed with untreatable cancer, and you must walk them through to the end.

For most of us, that would make us want to crawl into a hole and never return. Well, not for our guest, Dr. Azra Raza. Instead, she is pioneering the understanding of cancer and, most importantly, its earliest detection.

Dr. Raza immigrated to the U.S. with a clear intention: to cure cancer. She has traveled a long way from where she grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, to the dining room of President Joe Biden home at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Raza was invited with a handful of other cancer specialists to offer their perspectives on the current cancer landscape, which contributed to shaping what is now known as the “Cancer Moonshot” She has been featured in the New York Times, The Guardian, The Times, The Smithsonian, and numerous other high-profile outlets.

Dr. Raza’s latest bestselling book, “THE FIRST CELL” is a searing account of how medicine and our society (mis) treat cancer, how we can do better, and why we must. Her life is devoted to early detection and prevention of cancer.

Daryl Davis: Dinner with the Enemy

According to the FBI, hate crimes in the US have surged to their highest levels in over a decade. With rising extremist groups on both sides, what’s the solution? Stronger punishments? Government legislation? Or perhaps a more radical approach: becoming genuinely curious about “them.”

Join us as we explore the transformative power of curiosity and empathy in bridging divides. In these four episodes, we feature the extraordinary Daryl Davis, an award-winning musician, actor, author, and race reconciliator who has interviewed KKK leaders and members. He has received numerous awards for his work in race relations and is often sought by major media outlets as a consultant on White supremacy.

Daryl’s experiences and insights will challenge us to find common ground with those we believe we have nothing in common. Let’s learn from his example and strive to understand those we disagree with.

Stay tuned for our upcoming episodes with Daryl Davis.

Consider this: Relationships are not by accident, while yet most of us treat them like they are, particularly regarding work relationships. We tend to think I applied for the job and got the relationships as a roll of the dice. But what if that’s not true? What if you could actively shape those relationships to become the best possible relationships? How might that impact the quality of your life?

Today’s guest is returning champion Michael Bungay Stanier, also known as MBS. He’s best known for his book, The Coaching Habit, with over 1 million copies sold and over 10,005 star reviews on Amazon. It’s the bestselling coaching book of the century. We are already in the AI era, where science fiction has become a reality. Brace yourself for a future filled with excitement and fear as our human world collides with the realm of artificial intelligence.

But hold on, are we overlooking a crucial factor? Maybe we should pause and consider that we live in a society obsessed with pop culture, where people know more about the Kardashians than they do about the political arena.

Viktor Frankl’s book “Man’s Search for Meaning” argues that pursuing meaning and purpose, even in dire circumstances, is a fundamental human drive essential for psychological health and personal fulfillment. But what can a corporation and its leaders do to implement at an organizational or corporate level positively? What would happen to that organization when it knows and communicates its meaning and purpose to its stakeholders?

Today, Tim is a coach, speaker, facilitator, and designer of transformational experiences. His purpose is to nurture profound human possibilities working with organizations worldwide of all sizes and sectors to help them get fit for the 21st Century’s reality.
